Since 2008 Metro Homeschool Robotics (MHR or Metro, aka Cyborgs 1825) has been competing in both BEST and FIRST robotics competitions.  Even though our team is only a few years old, BEST and FIRST  have been around for years.  Both organizations seek to inspire students to pursue careers in engineering, science, technology and math through participation in annual sports-like science and engineering-based robotics competitions.  Many students who participate in these competitions go on to continue their education in the fields of science or technology and many of them qualify for additional scholarships because of their participation. These middle and high school students will be our future engineers, doctors, mathematicians, programmers, etc.

Our team has been successful, having earned the titles of BEST National Champions in 2010 and BEST World Champions in 2011.  We hope to have the chance to defend these titles.  We have also been Finalists at the Greater Kansas City Regional FIRST competition in 2009 and 2011.  Our student members are the ones to design, build, test, program, write, present, etc. while our mentors guide the students through these processes.

These competitions offer many benefits to the students, but are very costly endeavors.   Because we are a homeschool team, we are responsible for raising our own financial support.  We invite you to join us by being a sponsor of our team, enabling us to continue our paricipation in both BEST and FIRST.

Thank you in advance for your support.
